The musician I’m focussing on today is Sufjan Stevens who I discovered thanks to The Guardian newspaper’s insightful weekly e-newsletter Sleeve Notes.
Sufjan Stevens is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who plays nearly all the instruments you hear. This reminds me of Moby, also an American who used to do similar, although that is where the similarity ends! His best known album is Illinois (2005). I find it difficult to categorise his music because it is varied and anyway, categorisation is not always a good thing.
However, even better than that The Guardian have compiled a playlist of their favourites which you can find on Spotify, one of the digital music services, digital music service that gives you access to millions of songs. You can subscribe to the free service which includes adverts, or upgrade to the Premium service which lets you download music forever and there are no adverts!
